An individual in her thirties, who accused her father—responsible for financing her overseas education—of rape due to his refusal to provide monetary support, has received a prison sentence.
Based on information from legal sources on the 1st, Criminal Division 1 of the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court, under Judge Choi Chi-bong, recently sentenced a woman, designated as A, to a 10-month imprisonment. The charges encompassed defamation, business obstruction, and insult.

A faced prosecution for making 11 posts on an online platform between May and June of the previous year. These posts, titled "I am a victim of familial sexual violence. Please look at this," led to her father's defamation.
Within these online declarations, she falsely stated, "I have been repeatedly sexually abused by my biological father since age four, and my mother also endured domestic and sexual violence," "A settlement was reached with 30 million won in compensation," and "Severe punishment is necessary."
In doing so, A disclosed B's actual name and business details, reportedly causing operational difficulties for B's business.
Furthermore, A was accused of making six additional posts asserting that B remarried C, a woman with whom he purportedly had an affair.

In February 2021, A pursued legal action for damages regarding the alleged sexual assault at the Incheon District Court but failed to substantiate any illicit activities.
During the criminal proceedings, A maintained that her allegations were truthful. However, the court deemed her claims unconvincing, referencing the lawsuit's conclusions and the absence of specific evidence to support habitual sexual assault by B.
Moreover, the court assessed A's allegations as likely fabricated, given that B had funded her education abroad and continued support thereafter. The rape accusation coincided with her unmet demand for a substantial amount to operate a cafe.

The court underscored, "She disseminated falsehoods about the victims out of frustration over withheld financial support. The reputational harm to the victims is irreparable."
The rationale for sentencing was further elucidated by the court, which highlighted "the considerable risk of recidivism as evidenced by her continued dissemination of similar content post-crime, alongside the victims' strong demand for stringent punitive measures against her."
